The astronomical group “Kayhana” in Afghanistan, founded by two enthusiastic individuals in 2018, aims to enhance astronomical knowledge and establish a global intellectual presence in Afghanistan. Despite existing challenges in Afghanistan, this group is dedicated to introducing astronomy studies and creating opportunities, particularly for young girls, in STEM fields and other areas of astronomical sciences and technology.
Since 2020, Kayhana has not only been involved in scientific activities but has also ventured into technology. Currently, more than 250 students (Until now 2023) participate in diverse areas within the group. The primary objective of this organization is to proliferate astronomical knowledge and technology in Afghanistan, fostering increased participation of youth in these domains.
